At Takado we adhere to a set of shared Gym Rules and Etiquette to ensure effective, fun and safe training for everyone.

Respect others.
At Takado we are all equal, and we do not tolerate discrimination, harassment or bullying. Remember good manners, do your best to arrive on time for classes, be present and let everyone learn in peace.

Train in a way that does not risk injury to anyone.
Always take into account the safety of your training partner and people around you.

Only participate in training when healthy.
Do not enter the gym if you have a communicable disease, such as a cold, flu, or skin condition. Small injuries may not prohibit training, but do discuss it with a coach.

Take care of good personal hygiene.
Come to classes clean, and in clean and intact gear. Keep your toenails and fingernails short, and remove any jewellery before entering the Tatami.

Leave your outdoor shoes in the lobby.
On the Tatami we are barefoot, off the Tatami we wear flip-flops or other indoor shoes.

Our Association works on a volunteer basis, do your part.
Clean up after yourself: put trash in the trash can, wipe off any blood or other smears, and put back any equipment you have used. If you notice anything missing, tell a coach or the gym host.

Do not leave your belongings at the gym.
Takado ry is not responsible for any belongings left at the gym.

Clean and cover up any wounds.
Wound treatment equipment and plasters are available in the gym first aid cabinet. However, everyone must also be prepared with their own supplies.

There are dedicated guided classes for kids. If you bring children to adult classes or open mats, you are responsible for their safety.
Do not leave children unsupervised, and do not let children in a training area where a class or open mat is underway.
